Delta Epsilon Mu was founded in 1996 at Binghamton University. As a professional organization, DEM strives to integrate professional aspirations, particularly towards health-related fields, social camaraderie, and educational enrichment of its members and community. The Brothers and Sisters of Delta Epsilon Mu devote themselves to various philanthropic projects, fostering both professional development and social camaraderie to foster our DEM Family.
Founding Chapter at Binghamton University
As a late twentieth-century Greek organization, Delta Epsilon Mu, Inc. (DEM) was founded in a comparably more modern setting than its counterparts recognized within the Professional Fraternity Association. Delta Epsilon Mu is a young organization that is helping steer a new course for professional fraternities nationally.

Chemical Engineering“Spending my entire life in Vietnam, moving to a whole new country for college I thought it would be difficult to adapt and find a sense of belonging. However, joining DEM my first semester here has always made me feel like I had a home away from home. DEM has helped me find the most genuine and kind people who are always there for me. MCDB“I joined DEM with the expectation that I’d meet a group of five to ten people who would be my main friends- and that the rest of the fraternity would just be people I knew and said hi to, but wouldn’t play a huge role in my life. What surprised me in just my first few months after accepting a bid was that this wasn’t the case - I met dozens upon dozens of DEMbers, all of whom really wanted to get to know me and who I could see myself becoming really close with. I have yet to meet someone in DEM who I haven’t gotten along with. What I didn’t realize about DEM was that besides the opportunities it offers, the people in it are among the smartest, friendliest, most easygoing people I’ve ever met.”

Our Mission:
The Members of Delta Epsilon Mu actively serve their local community by advocating unbiased health education and care through active participation in service activities, fundraising, and outreach programs. Delta Epsilon Mu offers exclusive access to invaluable academic and career-oriented guidance through association with professors, advisors, career professionals, Alumni DEMbers, and fellow Active DEMbers. Our members are given the opportunity to participate in health-oriented workshops and discussions to further their knowledge and passion for their respective fields.
